♔ Before Applying

♦ Make sure you've checked our Rules, FAQs, and Taken pages.

♦ Please mark the subject line of your application [CHARACTER NAME | CANON]. If the character is AU, add that after their name, and if you have a reserve, please indicate that at the end of the label. If someone else has reserved the character you wish to app, you may submit your application with an additional marker of CHALLENGE APP; please note in this case the reserved application will receive priority.

♦ Plagiarizing is not acceptable. You can reuse portions of applications from other games, but those applications must have been written by you. If you are found to have plagiarized, you will be permanently banned from applying for that character and banned from submitting any applications for a period of one month.

♦ You may either post your application in full below or provide a link to a post on your character's journal. In either case, we ask that you provide an in-comment warning of any dark or potentially triggering material.

♦ Applications will be reviewed in the order they're submitted. However, in the case of particularly long applications or unfamiliar canons, it may take longer for us to build consensus. If a week goes by without response, feel free to contact us as to the state of your application, but try not to worry otherwise. We'll do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.

Canon point: The point in your character's history from which you will be importing them to Tanelorn.

Setting: Please provide a description of your characters home world or original setting sufficient to provide background to someone not familiar with the canon. The focus should be on world mechanics or features as they relate to your character, but include as much detail as you feel appropriate. We would prefer this section to be written out, though providing links will be acceptable in the case of fandom characters. If applying for an AU, OC, or fandom OC, this section must be written out.

History:
♦ If applying for an OU fandom character, either a player-written summary or wiki links are acceptable.
♦ With CR AUs, we require a written recap of their character's experiences in other games in addition to the canon summary or links. While we don't expect a catalog of every thread, we do ask that any important experiences affecting their development be detailed.
♦ In the case of player-created alternate universes, we ask that you provide an in-depth description of your character's AU showing how it deviates from the original canon's timeline.
♦ Original characters are required to provide a full written history with the focus on what experiences shaped the character into the person they are now.

Personality: Please provide several paragraphs and a minimum of three hundred words. This section should cover all key aspects of your character's personality. In the case of AUs, it should also describe in detail how altered circumstances or past experience has made them differ from their canon selves.

Please note—while referencing examples from your history section to demonstrate a character's personality is encouraged, recapping their life story here is not. This section is for describing what your character is like at present. As a rule, if the majority of this section reads as a summary of events, we may ask you to rewrite it.

Abilities: Please detail whatever abilities your character has in their original setting and how they might affect your character (or how they might use them) in Tanelorn. If your character will be bringing any items that can significantly alter what they are capable of (e.g. weapons, magic wands, battlesuits) list those here as well, and describe what abilities they grant as applicable.

Network sample: An example post to the Anulet Network of at least 100 words. Alternatively, you may link between one and three threads containing a total of 15 or more of your own bracket-style comments.

Log sample: An example prose post of at least 300 words. Alternatively you may link to a prose thread of at least 8 of your own prose comments.

You open your eyes to a rather rustic cot. There’s a pamphlet resting on the little table next to your cot, a single glass of water, and a rather plain looking ring around one of your fingers. The clothing, and belongings you had on you before you woke in this hushed, clean swept infirmary are neatly folded, and stacked below the pamphlet.
The hospital privacy screen may bring up questions. The pamphlet, the ring, and the other screened off cots may bring up more.

How did you get here? Where is here? Well, the pamphlet proclaims this to be "Tanelorn".

Before we can come to a final decision, we'd like to request an expansion on Ichigo's personality section—specifically, one addressing his development through his previous games.

With AU characters, we ask for a description of any changes in personality due to altered history or previous events. While your history section lists specific incidents as sources of growth, the personality section only peripherally references said growth or canon deviations. If you could provide an expansion explaining the degree to which Ichigo's experiences have affected his personality, we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
